DAYCARE MEALS & SNACKS FOR TODDLERS

It’s proven that starting a healthy lifestyle during the formative years of early childhood can have long-term benefits. We know first hand that initiating health-conscious meals and fun activities leads to better attitudes, higher learning, better nutrition, and happier days.

Abacus has implemented specific guidelines and practices in its Before & After School programs, Preschool classes, and Junior Kindergarten programs geared towards providing a healthy, enriching environment for children and families.

Medication & Health

  • Parents must submit a completed physical for their child within the first 30 days of enrollment.
  • The physical must include diet restrictions, allergies, previous health problems, shot records, and a statement that the child is free from communicable diseases.
  • Infants and toddlers are required to have a signed Feeding Plan Form.
  • Physicals must be completed annually for Infants, Toddlers, and 2’s.

Healthy Snacks

Children, especially infants and toddlers, burn energy from food exceptionally quickly. Healthy snacking between meals is essential in replenishing their growing bodies with the proper nutrients and hydration they need to be attentive, productive, and active.

Abacus serves snacks 2-3 times per day depending on the child’s age group. There are no additional charges for meals and snacks.

Nut Allergies

Abacus Early Learning Centers is a peanut free daycare.  We are a nut-free zones (yes, all nuts) for the safety and consideration of children with peanut and tree nut allergies.

Breakfast & Lunch

Breakfast and lunch options are prepared in accordance with strict nutritional guidelines approved by the State Board of Health and meet all Recommended Daily Allowances.

Menus are posted in advance.

Necessary diet restrictions and diet changes will be accommodated with a written physician’s statement. Second helpings are offered at each meal and snack.
